Whatever your reasons are for knowing how to play electric guitar, it all boils to one thing – self preservation or self gratification. You want to prove to the world (and to yourself) that you can do something worthwhile, something that you can probably brag about. That is perhaps the most common reason why people learn to play the guitar. Your reasons for learning the guitar will help your reach your goals the soonest time possible, so no matter what your reasons are, hold on to it! Make it your motivation.
Let me tell you, knowing how to play electric guitar, and mastering it are two different things. Let me share an interesting list of the advantages if you know how to really do “things” on the electric guitar.
Your brain gets a whole new workout.
Learning how to play difficult riffs and licks on the electric guitar will strongly develop your hand, eye, and brain coordination. The more you do this, the more “buff” your brain becomes which makes it a good thing.
It’s a self-esteem booster.
Like what I said earlier, this plays a big role in self-gratification. With you being able to play those great things, you’ll feel good about it – and when you feel good, you become more self-confident, which is a great necessity to survive life’s greatest challenges.
It’s a potential piggy bank.
Yes, you can definitely earn from it. Once people recognize your guitar skills oozing with expertise, they are most likely to hire you to play for some occasions, and you might even find yourself being invited to a band! If you are really serious, you can pursue this and make it your main source of income. Isn’t it just great?
It’s a social magnet.
Knowing how to play electric guitar with expertise is a great source of fame. It’ll be a great way to start conversations, and with it, you’ll have and make new friends along the way. I know this friend once, he was really a loner and no one would want to make friends, or even hang out with him. During talent’s night, he showed off his superb violin skills. Everyone was speechless and awed – including me. After a few days, I started to see him in some groups of friends and he was never alone then. It’s amazing how such talent could change your social “situation” overnight.
It’s fun!
What could be more entertaining than you showing off your guitar skills in a party, for instance? You’ll be the lifeblood of the party as you get one with your awesome riffs and licks on your electric guitar. Aside from that, getting together with friends will never be dull – thanks to your expert guitar skills, you’ll be jamming and singing, and having a sinfully great time.
Those are just a few of the endless list of the advantages of mastering the electric guitar. This instrument is really something that brings out the best in people and this is a really good way to have fun. I can’t enumerate all the advantages, but I’m pretty sure you already have a good picture on your mind of these great advantages. Rock on!
