For a beginner, I’m pretty sure, you would be quite familiar with a few basic chords already, so I’ve come up with these modern, yet easy songs to practice on the guitar that everyone would love. So pick up your guitar, and let’s make some music!

This is probably one of the most loved song of today’s generation and everyone loves the upbeat tune. This is indeed perfect for jamming together with friends on a lazy Sunday.

1. For this one, you need to have a capo on the 4^th fret so that you can get the exact pitch of the song.  You’ll only need 3 chords and they are just used over and over again.

These are: G Major B Minor and D.

You might be thrown off with the B Minor because it’s a barre chord, but being a beginner, this should be one of the most basic bar chords that you should learn.

Strumming Pattern:  DUDU UU UDU DUDU UU UDUDU

Another great beginner song for everyone. This still uses the very basic chords and indeed a very good song for every beginner.

Build Up: F Major, G Major, C Major, A minor, F Major,

Chorus: F Major, G Major, C Major, A minor, F Major

Strumming Pattern: As what you can see on the video, he only uses very easy strums all going down. But if you are getting the hang of it, you can of course, add your variations.

Another popular modern song that’s really good for beginners. You need to have the capo on the 1^st fret for this one.

Build UP: G Am Em C Major
